It’s official: Southampton have completed a deal for Princewill Ehibhatiomhan from Reading.

The 17-year-old is a centre-forward by trade and judging by the Saints’ track record of signing young players, it is likely that they have signed yet another gem.

As Southampton have now signed Princewill Ehibhatiomhan, more details have emerged about their latest capture.

The youngster is believed to have trials at both Manchester United and Chelsea, as Hampshire Live have reported that he was trialist at a number of Premier League clubs over the last year.

Furthermore, it has been claimed that he joined Reading at the age of seven and played there for a decade before deciding to leave.

Now, it has been confirmed by the official Southampton website that the club have completed the signing of Princewill Ehibhatiomhan on a two-year deal.

The teenager has signed his first professional contract of his career, as it seems like Ruben Selles and Co. have no plans to stop their youth revolution anytime soon.

After signing for Southampton, Princewill Ehibhatiomhan told club media, “It’s a great feeling, I’m really happy to be here and I’m excited. I really enjoyed [the trial period] the environment was good so it made the decision easier.”

“I want to start playing for the team and score goals, work my way up and take opportunities as they come.”

Head of Youth Recruitment Dan Rice heaped praise on the talented forward, saying, “Princewill is an exciting centre-forward that has excellent attacking characteristics and a prolific eye for goal, he’s a player that will bring an additional edge and firepower to the academy and will quickly add an extra attacking presence for the club in the future.

“He had a number of other opportunities to sign at other clubs, so we are delighted that we’ve been able to acquire him and look forward to him joining Southampton.”
