Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Everton host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Monday night.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Sean Dyche raved about Spurs star Harry Kane.

The Toffees boss congratulated the Tottenham striker on breaking England’s all-time goalscoring record.

Dyche also praised Kane for how he expertly “shuts down” criticism whenever it arises.

The Spurs ace has been in great form this season for club and country.

He has clocked up an impressive 21 goals and two assists in just 28 Premier League appearances.

Kane’s overall season tally for Spurs reads 39 appearances, 23 goals and four assists.

His efforts have kept Tottenham in contention for a Champions League spot.

However, Spurs now find themselves in a chaotic situation which could hamper their hopes for the season.

Antonio Conte has left, while Fabio Paratici has been hit with a worldwide football activity ban from FIFA.

Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason will hope for some stability on the pitch at least, starting Monday.

‘Good group of players’

Dyche made it clear Tottenham have other dangerous players besides Kane when Everton face them.

“Congratulations to him [on breaking the England goals record],” BBC Sport quoted the Everton boss as saying.

“I’m lucky enough to know him a little bit, fantastic fellow that he is – an all-round professional.

“He’ll be aware it’s not just about him, they’ve got good players there in general, but of course he’s a threat.

“He has been season after season and even when he gets questioned he certainly shuts down the question pretty quickly with what he does.

“But there’s a good team there. I know there’s a bit of noise there and varying things going on but at the end of the day they’ve still got a good group of players there and we’ve got to be ready for that.”

Everton will hope to pull further away from the Premier League relegation zone.

The battle against the drop features nine teams, with Crystal Palace just three points above safety despite being 12th.

Everton have improved in form since Dyche took the reins, with a two-point cushion from the bottom three in 15th.
