Herculez Gomez was left wowed by Newcastle United transfer target Santiago Gimenez and his latest performance for Eredivisie’s runaway leaders, Feyenoord.
On Sunday, Arne Slot’s side smashed RKC Waalwijk 5-1, with Santiago Gimenez scoring and assisting during that game, with one moment of the match being described as ‘shades of Guti to Zidane’.
Unless there is a collapse of some sorts, nothing is stopping the runaway train of Feyenoord from winning their second title since the turn of the century – there is a reason why their manager, Arne Slot is being linked to Premier League jobs.

But he isn’t the only one gaining Premier League attention, their rising 21-year-old star is seemingly on the radar of Eddie Howe’s high-flying, Newcastle United.
You might think that the Magpies have enough firepower at their disposal with club-record signing Alexander Isak and England international, Callum Wilson, but think again because they want more.
Futbol Americas pundit and former USA international, Herculez Gomez, was waxing-lyrical about Gimenez following his latest performance, as he told ESPN.
“That assist was dirty,” said Gomez. “Look at this back heel. Shades of Guti to Zidane. A ridiculous assist. He was on fire. He should have scored another goal off the post.

“Look at this finish. How calm and composed he is. Just side netting knows what he is doing. He is making it look easy.”

NEWCASTLE IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
The Magpies are currently sitting in the position they desire most and there is every chance they will be competing against the elite next season in the Champions League.
If that happens, then the quality of players they will need to sign will go up a level.
It will be interesting to see what road they go down, will those big crazy marquee signings come in? Or will they continue to go young, a category in which Gimenez fits in?!
