Alexander Isak has reacted live on Sky Sports after the Newcastle striker was told about an announcement from the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, Gary Cotterill of Sky Sports was alongside the Sweden international at a press conference, as the Newcastle No.14 spoke to the media ahead of Friday’s EURO 2020 qualifier against Belgium.
Cotterill asked Isak if he had “seen this” before handing the £120,000-a-week man his phone, with the Premier League’s Player of the Month nominations displayed on the screen.
The £63m Newcastle man has been nominated for the award after scoring three goals in three games across March.
After hearing about his nomination, Isak said: “I’m happy for that. Many good players there who have had a good month, so we’ll see. I want to make a mark at the club, I know how big it is and I know what this club means to the people of Newcastle.”
The 23-year-old’s efforts helped Newcastle record a 2-1 win over Wolves and a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, after starting the month with a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City.
Isak scored the opener against Wolves, before netting both goals against Nottingham Forest.
His first goal at the City Ground – a tremendous volley into the far corner – has also been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month award.
Newcastle finally seeing the best of Alexander Isak
Isak endured a difficult start to life on Tyneside after his £63m move from Real Sociedad in August.

A stunning debut goal against Liverpool at Anfield was followed up by a strike against Bournemouth on his third outing for Newcastle, although a hamstring injury – which ruled him out for 11 games – stunted his progress.
Now – however – Isak looks to be in top shape, and Newcastle fans are finally starting to see his best form.
