KANYE West has renovated his Chicago childhood home which now features a touching tribute to his mother Donda West.
Kardashian fans previously saw the home on a 2018 episode of Keeping Up With Kardashians when the rapper, then wife Kim Kardashian, 42, visited the property with their daughter North, nine.

Now, Kanye, 46, has finished the renovation process on the once-foreclosed southside Chicago abode.
The Yeezy founder has erected a black steel fence around the restored 1,600 sq ft three-bed, one-bath residence he and his late mother lived in during the 1980s.
In a heartwarming tribute to his mother, Kanye has included the initials “DH” — which stands for “Donda’s House” — on both the front and the driveway gate.
The Life of Pablo artist and his longtime friend and rapper, Che “Rhymefest” Smith — who reportedly helps to maintain the home’s new, pristine condition — purchased the property in 2016 as part of their non-profit youth arts organization Donda’s House.

Kanye is reportedly no longer affiliated with the charity.
Originally constructed in 1905, the South Shore home was due to be demolished in 2017 due to structural damage but permits allowing its repair were later granted.

Kanye’s childhood home has been completely refurbished and now boasts a new roof, wooden staircases at the front and rear, and security cameras monitoring the property’s perimeter.
The yard features tree stumps that have been painted in traditional Jamaican colors and sports a small Haitian flag.
A poster for “The Abolition Institute” can also be seen posted on the lawn.
The Flashing Lights rapper shared a photo of the house on his Instagram in 2021 before the release of his album, Donda.
A recreation of the house was later constructed at Chicago’s Soldier Field football stadium during a listening event for the album’s release.
PAUSED PROJECT
Last year, Kanye had to hit pause on the renovations to his $57million Malibu mansion after the star lost millions when brands cut ties with him over his shocking anti-Semitic remarks.
The entrepreneur claimed he lost $2billion in a day after being dropped by Adidas, GAP, and Balenciaga.

At the time, Kanye had held up at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills as he scrambled to sort out his crumbling business empire.

Kanye bought his four-bed, four-and-a-half-bath property in 2021 in an off-market deal, and has since gutted the place, removing the doors and windows.
A source close to the star told The U.S. Sun: “Ye has mostly been living at the Waldorf for the past month with Juliana [Nalu, his then girlfriend].
“He’s having to sort his finances out so renovation work at his Malibu place is on hold at the moment.”
The insider added: “His house near Kim’s also needs renovating, and he wanted a change of scenery after months at Soho Warehouse Downtown.”
YE’S WAY
Recently, Kim showed support for her ex-husband as the Hulu star was captured enjoying a live concert and gave a bold tribute to Kanye.
Kim’s good friend Tracy Romulus took a video of the reality TV personality and posted it on her Instagram Stories.
In the clip, 42-year-old Kim danced away at a live concert after attending a Louis Vuitton show for Paris Fashion Week.
The concert was packed full of people when Kanye and Jay-Z’s song Ni***as in Paris came on, and Tracy turned the camera to Kim.
The Skims founder pouted at the camera, before singing along to the rap song.
Kim and Kanye started dating in 2011 when she flew to Paris to see his fashion show. The couple then married in a lavish ceremony in 2014, and share four children.
Kim filed for divorce in February 2021, and the couple reached a settlement in November last year.
Kanye and Kim co-parent their children North, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four.
Kim recently opened up about realizing that Kanye might be right about one contested area of parenting during an interview in the Time Magazine 2023 issue.
Kim confessed that the incident in which North rapped the mature lyrics of an Ice Spice song on TikTok earlier this year wasn’t her proudest parenting moment.
The Kardashians star said: “As soon as I saw the words, I was like, ‘Oh no, we’re taking this down. I saw on the internet, [people saying] ‘Kanye was right,’ and maybe he was in that instance.”
Back in 2022, Kanye slammed Kim for allowing their daughter to use TikTok and wear makeup.
He slammed: “Don’t have my daughter wearing lipstick on TikTok, or don’t have her on TikTok at all, if I’m not there to approve that.

“It was done without me knowing and it happened again so I feel like it’s poking the bear, trying to antagonize me or create this ‘crazy’ narrative.”
Some fans agreed with Kanye, suggesting that Kim was purposefully pushing her daughter – who recently celebrated her birthday – into the spotlight.
