SEAN Diddy Combs was arrested late Monday in New York after he was indicted by a federal grand jury.
The star’s arrest comes after it emerged investigators probing the rapper are secretly liaising with prosecutors in the murder trial of Tupac Shakur.
US attorney in Manhattan, Damian Williams confirmed the rapper’s arrest.
Details of the charges have not been announced by prosecutors.
Combs, 54, was arrested in a Manhattan hotel lobby by Homeland Security Officers.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said Combs had been cooperating with the investigation and had voluntarily relocated to New York in anticipation of the charges.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorneys Office,” he said.
The star’s arrest comes months after federal agents raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing sex trafficking probe.
Combs, 54 is currently facing a string of civil lawsuits over allegations of sexual assault.
