Do you have a taste for all things supernatural? If that’s the case and you’re also partial to a terrific teen drama, then is there any other new show that satisfies quite like School Spirits? We’d wager that’s an easy one to answer.
Created by Megan Trinrud and Nate Trinrud, the US TV series began premiering on Paramount+ in March 2023, with some audiences tuning in courtesy of the Paramount+ channel on Amazon Prime Video.
Serving as an adaptation of Megan and Nate’s graphic novel, which they crafted along with Maria Nguyen, the series stars Peyton List as Maddie, a teenager stuck navigating the afterlife intent on getting to the bottom of the mystery that is her own disappearance.

School Spirits is made up of eight episodes in total and the season finale, titled Madison’s Body, premiered on Paramount+ on Thursday, April 13th 2023.

As you may have noticed, these are tongue-in-cheek riffs on real movie and TV titles; My So-Called Life, The Fault In Our Stars, Dazed And Confused, Cruel Intentions, The Twilight Zone, Save The Last Dance, Say Anything, and finally, Jennifer’s Body starring Megan Fox.
Is School Spirits a limited series?
No, School Spirits has not been billed as a limited, meaning that the creators haven’t devised the project as a one-season series.

That being said, Paramount is yet to announce whether it has been renewed for season 2.
Now that the finale has made its way to the fandom, we anticipate that a potential announcement regarding the show’s future could come as early as April or May of this year.
‘We have lots of thoughts’
The co-creators and even the showrunner, Oliver Goldstick, have revealed that they’d like to pursue a second season during an interview with J-14.
“Oh, we got ’em,” Nate clarified when asked if there are ideas for expanding the show. “We have lots of thoughts. We can’t share them. We’ll have to kill you.”
Oliver added that “Hopefully there will be a season two. We’re hoping for that. Cause we’ve got some wonderful places to take the show. ”
Additionally, Megan shared that she wished “to keep telling” the story they’ve begun with season 1.
School Spirits is now streaming on Paramount+.
