RUSSELL Simmons has broken his silence on his family tension, issuing an apology to his daughters after they accused him of verbal abuse.
Simmons’ eldest daughter, Ming Lee, 23, buried the Def Jam Records co-founder over the weekend by publicly wishing her mom, Kimora, 48, a happy Father’s Day instead.

The post enraged Simmons, 65, who then took a shot at his ex-wife on his Instagram page, sparking a full public family feud.
Simmons apologized for his actions on Tuesday, sharing an Instagram post of his daughters, Ming and Aoki Lee, with the caption: “God is testing you a little bit, it’s ok, be strong. . . they are called growing pains . . . as you know, we grow through adversity and struggle.
“You read my books and heard me preach your whole childhood . . . reach back to old lessons and remember to remember ‘smile and breathe’ ‘smile and breathe’ . . . you are the watchers of this world . . . so let go . . . be at ease . . . God is driving and he is working on you.
“DEEPLY sorry for being frustrated and yelling . . . but know this . . . there are no conditions . . . for sure i love you guys more than i love myself.”
Simmons is an entrepreneur, record executive, and writer who has started multiple brands, including the eyewear brand Argyleculture and the fashion line Phat Farm.
His daughters are Internet personalities who have amassed large social media followings.

The eldest sister has 1.2million followers on her Instagram page, @mingleesimmons, and Aoki, 20, has 763,000 followers on her account, @aokileesimmons.
Both are also models who have walked the runway with their fashion designer and model mom, People reports.
Ming graduated from New York University in May 2023, according to Yahoo! Life.
Aoki, who was accepted into Harvard University at just 16 years old, graduated from the Ivy League school last May as well, per People.
The sisters’ parents divorced in January 2009 after being married for 11 years.
Kimora filed for divorce in March 2008, but the former couple had already been separated for years, having announced their split in March 2006, according to People.
The former model cited irreconcilable differences in court documents and asked for legal and physical custody of the pair’s daughters, who were eight and five at the time, the outlet reports.
At the time of their original 2006 separation, Russell said: “Kimora and I will remain committed parents and caring friends with great love and admiration for each other,” according to People.
