Micah Richards lauded Chelsea and Newcastle United transfer target Victor Osimhen for his headed goal during Napoli’s progression to the quarter-final of the Champions League on Wednesday night by calling it ‘absolutely ridiculous’.
The all-action and sought-after striker, like he was Cristiano Ronaldo in his pomp, leapt as high as his talents from a standing position to open the scoring as Napoli went on to demolish Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 on aggregate.
Another much-talked-about talent, who is also on Chelsea and Newcastle’s transfer radar, that is putting defenders on their backside is the whiz kid, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The duo are perhaps two of the most dangerous forwards in world football today. They are on the verge of guiding Napoli to their first Serie A title in 30 years, but they are hoping to be as dangerous in the Champions League.
The eyes of the footballing world has been on Naples this season because of the team Luciano Spalletti has built, with the above two at the heart of their attacking quality.
Nonetheless, when talking about Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia’s performance on Wednesday night, former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards, issued his response, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (15/03/23 at 10:20 pm).
On Osimhen: “We talked about him and how effective he can be,” said Richards. “But I just want to talk about his leap here.
“It is absolutely ridiculous. To get off the floor, but not only that, to angle the header back to where it’s coming from. It’s absolutely wonderful. He certainly means to put it there as well.”

On Kvaratskhelia’s display: He played well,” added Richards. “But he couldn’t finish off his chances.
“In terms of linking up, he did everything that we expected. He was bright. The right weight of pass. It was just that finishing. He went through a couple of times and he looked like he was so desperate to score.”
PREMIER LEAGUE BOUND?
It’s destined to happen because of the money that is in the Premier League, but where will Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen end up?
If Newcastle get into the Champions League, added to their endless amounts of money, then they will be backing themselves to sign either duo.
On the other hand, those at Stamford Bridge, still have a chance of winning the Champions League and they have shown that they are willing to splash the cash as they now need that out-and-out number nine, so does Osimhen come into the picture, in that regard? Thierry Henry certainly thinks so.
All in all, it won’t be too long before, at least one of them, is dancing on the stage of English football.
