British political journalist Isabel Oakeshott made headlines recently alongside her partner Richard Tice as Matt Hancock comes under fire for his leaked Whatsapp messages.
The British Journalist was entrusted by former health secretary Matt Hancock with various WhatsApp messages to help him write a book. Recently, Isabel Oakeshott has made headlines as she leaked Hancock’s messages with the Daily Telegraph.
Many have been left reeling at the revelation of Hancock’s trust in the journalist. British politics are shaken once again as Oakeshott expresses her views. As she revealed for the Daily Telegraph, her intention was to shed new light on the controversial handling of the pandemic, among other things.

Isabel Oakeshott’s credibility questioned over relationship with Richard Tice
According to the Guardian, Isabel Oakeshott claimed she was “morally obliged” to leak the messages. Her reasoning, she stated, was that the Whatsapp messages were “a great deal of material that is overwhelming in the public interest”. This material was allegedly left out of Matt Hancock’s book titled ‘Pandemic Diaries’, which was published last December.
Isabel Oakeshott helped Hancock draft and write the book, which details personal notes and information about the conservative government’s handling of the pandemic. She has since spoken out against the book, claiming various pieces of vital information have been intentionally left out of Hancock’s literary work.
News outlet The Independent reported Oakeshott is facing an allegation that she broke NDA (a non-disclosure agreement) to help deliver the Matt Hancock story.
Her track record of credibility is questionable, as Isabel Oakeshott is in a longstanding relationship with Richarch Tice. Tice is a British politician and leader of the Reform party. According to the Guardian, some conservative members were shocked that Hancock entrusted important records to Isabel, given her relationship with Tice.

“Imagine banning people from going for a solitary walk in the countryside!”
Neither Isabel Oakeshott nor her partner Richard Tice is afraid to share their views on the recent events.
Outside of speaking to different news outlets, both the journalist and the politician have taken to the social media site Twitter to express their perspective on recent events:
Both Oakeshott and Tice declared their anger at the rules put in place at the time of lockdowns, as well as the delays in the Covid public inquiry.
It’s no surprise they share the same views, as Tice quote tweets his partner’s statement:
The couple has even appeared on television programs together, co-hosting features on TalkTV.
