REAL Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband, Luis Ruelas, owe over $3 million in taxes after she denied struggling with financial issues.
Teresa, 52, and Luis, 49, star on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which has cast members on edge amid rumors the network may re-cast the series.
The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal Teresa and her husband, who she married in 2022, have been hit with over $3 million in tax liens.
According to New Jersey courts, Teresa was issued a tax lien on March 20, 2025 in the amount of $303,889.20.
Teresa’s husband was slapped with a tax lien on December 12, 2024 for $163,523.94.
His most recent tax lien was on March 6, 2025 for a whopping $2,569,842.06
In total, the couple owes $3,037,255.2.
A rep for Teresa did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
FIRST HUSBAND DRAMA
The U.S. Sun can also exclusively confirm Teresa has an open tax lien from her marriage to her first husband, Joe Giudice.
Teresa and Joe’s Federal Tax Lien for $551,563.30 for the 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2013 years in October 2015 is still active.
The U.S. Sun previously reported Teresa was able to pay off a series of tax debts from her marriage to Joe.
On September 6, 2023, a Release of Federal Tax Lien for Teresa and her ex-husband was issued for the amount of $243,425.50 for the tax period ending in 2014.

A Release of Federal Tax Lien was issued for the exes in September 13, 2023 for the amount of $219,804.38 for the 2015 year.
A tax lien in the amount of $64,157.64 for the 2016 and 2017 years was paid off on November 6, 2023.
As for Teresa alone, a Release of Federal Tax Lien in just Teresa’s name was issued for the 2020 and 2021 years in the amount of $17,061.32 on May 31, 2023.
A lawyer for Teresa released a statement in June 2023, “Ms. Giudice has been aware of her tax obligations for years and makes significant timely monthly payments towards her outstanding tax liabilities and will continue to do so until those liabilities do not exist.”

Teresa and Luis have struggled with financial issues since their 2022 marriage, despite the couple denying money woes.
The U.S. Sun previously reported Luis and Teresa took out a loan in March 2024 to help pay off their $3,350,000 New Jersey mansion, which they purchased in January 2021.
The couple initially did not take out a loan on the seven-bedroom, 10-bath home when they bought the property.
According to the mortgage, Luis, who is the “sole member” of the LLC used to purchase the Montville property, took out a one million dollar loan on March 25, 2024.
The couple’s financial issues have been a storyline on RHONJ.
On Season 14, Teresa’s enemy Margaret Josephs is heard over the phone saying Luis “pissed her money away.”
Teresa denied the claims on Tori Spelling’s podcast, misSPELLING.
“Margaret says my husband spends all my money. Like, b***h, you don’t even know what you’re talking about,” Teresa said.
“She’s not even in my house. She’s putting out this false narrative out there. And it’s like, she’s trying to make me her storyline.”
For income, Teresa has a podcast called Turning the Tables and makes money from social media.
Luis is co-founder and executive vice president of business development for the Florida-based business Digital Media Solutions, among other businesses.

Teresa stars on the Bravo series alongside housewives Dolores Catania, Melissa Gorga, Margaret Josephs, Jennifer Aydin, Danielle Cabral and Rachel Fuda, as well as Jackie Goldschneider and Jen Fessler who have guest roles.
Dolores gave insight exclusively to The U.S. Sun in December 2024 as to why the series is currently on hiatus.
“We have heard nothing from the bosses about our show. Nothing. Nothing from production nothing from NBC, we’re not even talking about it,” Dolores told The U.S. Sun.
“They’re probably just so mad at us by now, I’m not sure they know what to do.”
Dolores explained how the “fighting got out of hand,” resulting in the network leaving the show’s future up in the air.
She said, “A lot of things leaked, a lot of things [came out] on social media that shouldn’t have been, a lot of fighting outside [the show]. It just got too messy.”
As for the future of the show, Dolores doesn’t believe the rumors that the network will fire the entire cast.
“I don’t think they want to revamp the whole cast,” she said. “We’re an ensemble cast. Like us or hate us, like one person, love the next, hate the next, we worked good together on our best of days and on our worst of days.
“I would hate to see anybody not come back.”
In July, producer Andy Cohen sparked rumors of a complete cast reboot.
He said on his SiriusXM radio show, “We are rebooting the show. We’re going to reboot it. We’re going to do something different.
“We’re gonna see what we do. I don’t know. Maybe just all fresh faces? Maybe. We’ll see.”
Then in December, Andy told Us Weekly, “You’re not gonna get it for, like, a year, so everyone stop asking. And I keep saying you are going to get nothing, so stop asking!”
