POLICE have revealed Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson’s son Josh’s possible cause of death.
The Bravo star confirmed the death of her son in an emotional statement shared on social media.
On March 31, it was reported by TMZ that Orange County police were called to a motel after staff went to Josh’s room to see if he checked out or not.
The news outlet also reported that he didn’t mention that he was checking into the motel.
According to TMZ, Josh’s body was found in the room where drug paraphernalia and residue were found.
Police believe it was a possible overdose with no signs of foul play.
However, nothing has been confirmed until the toxicology report is fully completed.
In the past, Josh has had several run-ins with the law.
JOSH’S ARRESTS
Lauri and her family appeared on the Real Housewives of Orange County for four seasons but ultimately decided to leave the show after Josh was first arrested in 2008.
That year, she told The Orange County Register that her decision to not return “wasn’t taken lightly.”
She said, “Once I bailed [my son] Josh out of jail, I just really needed my privacy. It needed to be as much a private matter as possible.”
Eight years later in 2016, Josh – who was 27 at the time – was arrested and faced 65 years in prison after shooting a man named Daniel Lopez outside a sober living home in California.
Fortunately, Daniel survived the incident after being shot in the lower torso.
After being arrested for a slew of felonies, he spent four years in jail awaiting trial and in 2020, a plea deal was reached.
In March 2020, he pled guilty to lesser charges so he could be let out on parole.
Three months later in June, he was charged with three misdemeanors after having possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and misrepresenting himself to police.
In May 2021, Josh was arrested for riding in a stolen rental car from the John Wayne Airport in California.
On January 10, 2022, Josh was arrested again for allegedly dealing drugs and was charged with possession and the sale of fentanyl and misdemeanor methamphetamine possession.
LAURI SPEAKS OUT
In her heartbreaking post, Lauri shared several photos of Josh throughout the years and a lengthy emotional caption.
“No one can ever prepare you for this feeling of such deep loss,” she said.
“Every fiber in my body hurts. Josh’s childhood was filled with deep intellect, humor, pranks, athletics, snowboarding, body boarding mountain hikes, reading, friends, and his love for music.”
“Even during adult hardship, Josh continued to maintain his sense of humor, continued to be optimistic, continued to be kind to others, defended those that were unable to defend themselves, and continued to love his family so so much,” Lauri continued.
She went on to explain Josh being a father to his daughter Kennady and thanked the people in his life that was there for him through his struggles.
Friends and fans flooded the comment section with well wishes and condolences.
Andy Cohen and Tamra Judge were some of the many Bravo stars to leave a message.
