Getting water is relatively easy! To find it, open your GPS and search for the closest river. If you look inland, you will see one there. It may be a bit of a trek to get to it, but it is possible to get to a river. Once you get to it, you can drink from the river.

If you have been exploring for a while and are a far way away from a river, there are alternative ways to quench your thirst. For example, you can eat a white plant called Yarrow. You can also use berries to slowly but surely fill up your thirst bar, such as Salmonberries, Blackberries, and Blueberries.
To avoid struggling for water, it is wise to find shelter near a river, so that you don’t run out of water any time soon. Later in the game, you will also learn how to filter water, which will make the process significantly easier, and will also give you a better hydration system.
