Tottenham Hotspur have made a ‘casual request’ for Julian Nagelsmann – but Chelsea are also interested.
That’s according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who has been discussing Nagelsmann’s future on Twitter.
Plettenberg initially tweeted that Nagelsmann is on Chelsea’s shortlist if they decide to move on from Graham Potter.
Chelsea want to keep Potter for now but Nagelsmann’s availability seems to have caught Chelsea’s attention.
Plettenberg then added that Tottenham are ‘definitely interested’ in Nagelsmann.
It’s suggested that Tottenham have already made a ‘casual request’ for Nagelsmann but no serious talks have been held yet.
Nagelsmann allegedly wants to take his time before jumping into a new job, having only been let go by Bayern Munich a few days ago.
Bayern sacked Nagelsmann amid concerns over their performances in 2023, with Borussia Dortmund now top of the Bundesliga.
That won’t damage Nagelsmann’s reputation too much though, as seen with immediate interest from Chelsea and Spurs.

Who is Tottenham and Chelsea target Julian Nagelsmann?
Nagelsmann has a quite incredible story having ended his playing career at the age of just 20.
A defender for 1860 Munich and Augsburg, Nagelsmann suffered career-ending injuries and turned to scouting – ironically under Thomas Tuchel, the man who has replaced him at Bayern.
Nagelsmann went to study business administration and sports science before heading to 1860 Munich as a youth coach.
Nagelsmann moved on to Hoffenheim in 2010 and by 2016, he was somehow in charge of the first team at just 28.
The German carved out a huge reputation for himself, working wonders with Hoffenheim before being snapped up by RB Leipzig in 2019.
Bayern pounced just two years later and whilst Nagelsmann won the Bundesliga title last season, he has now been given his marching orders.
Hailed as a ‘unique’ coach by former Hoffenheim man Lutz Pfannenstiel, Nagelsmann is still only 35 and should be back in management soon – possibly in London.
