Liverpool No.14 Jordan Henderson has allegedly shared his stance on the situation involving Gary Lineker and the BBC.
What’s the story?
Well, the England international is said to be on the side of Lineker after the BBC asked the 62-year-old to step down from Match of the Day, following his criticism of the UK Government’s Stop the Boats campaign.
Henderson – according to talkSPORT – has been in touch with the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) to make it clear that no Liverpool players will be speaking to the BBC before or after today’s game against Bournemouth.
All Premier League clubs in action over the weekend after expected to do the same.
It is said that Henderson is widely seen as the captain of all captains in England’s top-flight, and it seems that his stance on the situation is set to be followed by the other 19 leaders in the Premier League.
It comes after the 32-year-old received an MBE for his charity work during the global pandemic.
Henderson was an architect of the Players Together campaign which encouraged professional footballers to donate their wages to the NHS after the Coronavirus outbreak.

Liverpool & Henderson right to side with Lineker
In our view, this is the right decision.
Lineker simply expressed an opinion on his personal Twitter account – his platform, not a platform run by the BBC.
For the 62-year-old to have his role as host of Match of the Day stripped away until he apologises is nothing short of ridiculous, and it is pleasing to see the football family stick together on the matter.

Ian Wright, Alan Shearer and many others who work for the BBC have also backed Lineker.
Hopefully, it won’t be long until this debacle is over and they can all return to Match of the Day – if they would even want to, that is.
