Tottenham are said to be interested in hiring Vincent Kompany as a replacement for Antonio Conte – now, Chelsea are involved.
What’s the story?
Well – according to The Sun – Spurs are impressed by the Belgian’s work at Burnley and want him in N17, although Chelsea are also on the lookout for a new manager.
The Times believe Kompany is admired by those at Stamford Bridge as they attempt to replace Graham Potter.
However, that is not to say that Chelsea are only focusing their attention on the Burnley boss.
It is also said that the Blues have shortlisted Ruben Amorim, Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Luciano Spalletti and Abel Ferreira as Todd Boehly aims to clean up his mess in west London.

The Times believe Chelsea have already interviewed Enrique and Nagelsmann – both of whom are wanted by Tottenham in addition to Kompany.
The story also mentions that Nagelsmann prefers Chelsea to Tottenham, although the German is also believed to have one eye on developments at Real Madrid with Carlo Ancelotti possibly leaving this summer.
Kompany must avoid Tottenham & Chelsea
In our view, Kompany would be mad to join Tottenham or Chelsea now.
The Belgian’s reputation in the world of football management has soared after he transformed the stereotypically defensive Burnley into a free flowing attacking unit, one on the verge of winning the Championship title.
If Kompany were to abandon his exciting project at Turf Moor in preference of cleaning up the mess at Tottenham and Chelsea, it could be career defining – in a negative way.

We have already seen how little time Boehly afforded another talented coach in Potter, so Kompany surely wouldn’t be given much patience if he started poorly.
Working under Daniel Levy also seems to be a poisoned chalice for anyone who manages Tottenham.
Nevertheless, be sure to keep an eye on both situations, as Chelsea and Tottenham continue their search for a new manager.
