Tottenham Hotspur have now learnt Barcelona’s asking price to sign Franck Kessie in the summer transfer window. Spurs remain keen despite him rejecting Antonio Conte.
That is according to Sport, which reported in March that Tottenham remain very interested in a transfer with Barcelona for Kessie. But the 26-year-old has an array of suitors queueing for his signature. The midfielder represents an economic option to strengthen many teams.
Tottenham also felt strongly about Kessie’s potential to thrive in the Premier League in the winter transfer window. TuttoMercatoWEB reported in January that Spurs discussed a deal with the La Liga giants. But Kessie rejected a move as he had no desire to leave Camp Nou.

Tottenham now learn Barcelona’s asking price for Franck Kessie’s transfer
Kessie only arrived in Catalunya last July after leaving AC Milan at the end of his contract at San Siro. He also penned a deal at Camp Nou running to June 2026 that includes a €500m (£447m) release clause. But AS now reports the Blaugrana will sell him for just six per cent.

Barcelona cannot guarantee Kessie will remain at Camp Nou next season despite boss Xavi Hernandez trusting the Ivory Coast international. The Blaugrana must balance their books, so club chiefs will consider bids of €25-30m (£22.5-27m) as it will represent straight profit.

Xavi Hernandez is more than satisfied with the midfielder’s performances
Kessie has more than pleased Xavi with his performances in a Barcelona shirt. So, any sale of a 60-cap international who Craig Burley called ‘terrific’ in January would only be to help the club raise funds. Kessie has played 35 times for Xavi with three goals and three assists.
Xavi has further given the midfielder a greater role since the World Cup break after his slow start in Spain. But Kessie’s improved performances for Barcelona have ensured Tottenham remain interested in a transfer. Even though Spurs chief Daniel Levy sacked Conte in March.
