Tottenham Hotspur want Giorgi Mamardashvili and may seek a cut-price move for the Valencia stopper at the end of the season.
That’s according to Football London, who claim that Spurs have now been tracking Mamardashvili for a couple of seasons.
It’s noted that Mamardashvili has a staggering £88million release clause in his contract.
Release clauses are mandatory in Spain and players often have huge fees in their contracts to fend off potential buyers.
Yet in the case of Mamardashvili, Valencia have been in financial problems for a long time now.
That means Tottenham may well be able to negotiate a much, much lower fee than £88million.
Add in that Valencia are battling against relegation and could easily drop into Spain’s second tier and Tottenham may be in a strong position.
Spurs are looking at goalkeepers to potentially replace Hugo Lloris down the line and Mamardashvili appears to be a prime candidate.

Who is Tottenham Hotspur target Giorgi Mamardashvili?
For anybody thinking that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the only top talent emerging from Georgia, you’re very much mistaken.

Goalkeeper Mamardashvili has been shining too and has strong ties to Napoli winger Kvaratskhelia.
The pair came through the Dinamo Tbilisi ranks together and are now Georgian internationals too.
Mamardashvili never even made his debut for Dinamo but impressive loans at Rustavi and Locomotive Tbilisi convinced Valencia to sign him in 2021.
The giant 6ft 6in stopper played 21 times in all competitions last season and showed huge promise for Valencia.
Now Valencia’s undoubted first-choice goalkeeper, Mamardashvili is one of the top young stoppers in the world at just 22 and has played 22 times this term.
It’s fair to say that, without Mamardashvili between the sticks, Valencia would be even worse off in the La Liga table.
Mamardashvili looks set for a huge career and may well find their next goalkeeper for the next decade in him, just as they did with Lloris back in 2012.
