Newcastle United want Scott McTominay and it appears the club’s key decision-makers are all on board with a summer deal.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who suggest that McTominay is emerging as a top Newcastle target for this summer.
It’s stated that boss Eddie Howe, chief scout Steve Nickson and director of football Dan Ashworth are all supporting a move for McTominay.
Newcastle are understood to have shown an initial interest in signing McTominay in January but Manchester United weren’t willing to let him go.
McTominay is now a chief target and he is understood to be open to joining Newcastle come the end of the season.
The Scotland international has allegedly been impressed with Newcastle’s progress this season and would like to join the project.
It’s unclear just how much McTominay would cost but Newcastle have money to spend and seem primed to make their move.

We have seen that throughout his recruitment at Newcastle with the signings of Nick Pope, Dan Burn, Matt Targett, Kieran Trippier, Anthony Gordon and Chris Wood.
The only real outliers are Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak – top talents who have helped Newcastle take big leaps forward.
McTominay fits the bill in that regard having racked up nearly 150 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils.
McTominay is a huge presence at 6ft 4in tall and Newcastle may believe that he can play a holding role to allow Bruno to go forward.
There is still untapped potential in McTominay at just 26 and Howe must believe that he can take the Manchester United ace to another level.
Once hailed as ‘special’ by Jose Mourinho, it may be time for McTominay to leave Old Trafford and Newcastle make sense as his next move despite interest from Everton, Southampton, Leeds United, West Ham United and Leicester City.
