Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to make a move for Graham Potter after his departure from London rivals Chelsea.
Spurs and Chelsea yet again find themselves in the hunt for new managers.
Tottenham parted ways with Antonio Conte in March whilst Chelsea decided to sack Graham Potter on Sunday night.
The two teams appear to be taking slightly different approaches; Tottenham are waiting until the summer but Chelsea appear to be going a little quicker with their search.
As soon as Chelsea sacked Potter, some wondered whether Tottenham could make their move to bring Potter to North London.
However, The Telegraph claim that Spurs are now unlikely to target Potter as a replacement for Conte.
It’s stated that Tottenham have been interested in Potter in the past but the nature of his Chelsea exit means Spurs aren’t too keen now.
Tottenham may feel that Potter was found wanting with a so-called ‘big six’ club and has shown that he can’t be considered for Spurs either.

We would push back on the idea that Potter isn’t good enough for Spurs.

Potter proved himself as a quality manager with Brighton and he may be better suited to building something patiently at Tottenham than the win-now nature at Chelsea.
Todd Boehly may want patience but when you spend the kind of money he has, results are expected and it just didn’t suit Potter.
We still think Potter is at least worth an interview for the Spurs job this summer, but we can understand Tottenham’s concerns.
In recent years, Tottenham have gone with two ex-Chelsea managers in Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte; going further back, there was Andre Villas-Boas too.
Tottenham’s moves for ex-Chelsea bosses haven’t exactly worked and they may be reluctant to go down that path again.
Spurs fans do seem sick of it and didn’t appear too enamoured with links to Thomas Tuchel.
Tottenham may not be the job for Potter this summer but you can be sure that he will attract plenty of interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
