Tottenham Hotspur have beaten Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the race for Manchester City talent Herbie James.
Spurs have really placed a keen focus on signing young players of late.
Tyrell Ashscroft signed from Reading in 2022 and goalkeeper Josh Keeley joined up from St Patrick’s Athletic.
Tottenham then swooped to sign former Arsenal youth striker Will Lankshear from Sheffield United.
In January, Chelsea youngster Jude Soonsup-Bell completed a move to Spurs with James now the next addition.
That’s according to Football London, who claim that James has signed for Tottenham from City.
It’s claimed that the teenager made his debut for Tottenham Under-18’s against Norwich on Saturday, but was listed as a trialist.
The report also notes that Tottenham beat both Everton and Wolves in the race to land James.

James hails from Congleton in Cheshire and actually started out with Port Vale.

James was spotted playing for Congleton Rovers and Vale brought him into their youth ranks.
Manchester City spotted James and swooped in to sign him at the age of just 11.
Vale were paid compensation for James, who was considered as a striker at the time.
Now 16, James has been featuring as a winger for City and will give Tottenham’s youth teams a versatile attacking threat.
This will have been a tough decision for James as he has a strong connection to City.
James has been quoted as saying that his whole family are City fans and joining the club was a dream come true.
Tottenham appear to have done enough to tempt James away from the Etihad Stadium though in what will feel like a coup.
The first-team pathway at City is a very difficult one and you could hardly blame James for thinking that he has a better chance of senior action in the future at Tottenham.
