Newcastle United are reportedly plotting a loan approach for Barcelona’s Ansu Fati.
GiveMeSport’s Dean Jones claims the Magpies are looking to sound out the loan potential of the 20-year-old.
Newcastle have enjoyed an outstanding season and will look to build on their efforts in the summer.

The Magpies are third in the Premier League table and will fancy their chances of Champions League qualification.
According to Jones, Newcastle are looking to add dynamism to their attack from the wide areas.
At the same time, the Magpies are wary of the prices clubs could quote for their players.
Fati is reportedly on Eddie Howe’s radar, but by the sounds of it, they’re only looking for a loan move for now.
€1bn release clause
Fati is a ‘spectacular‘ talent who boasts a long-term contract at Barca as well as a staggering release clause.
His contract runs until 2027 and the Blaugrana even have the option to extend that by two more years.
In addition, Fati boasts a €1bn release clause, which works out at about £882million.

However, the 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Camp Nou.
He has 41 appearances under his belt for a total of 1,522 minutes of football.
With that in mind, this summer could well see Fati up sticks and go elsewhere for first-team football.
Barca are reportedly willing to do business at around £50million.
They need to sell players in order to bring in new recruits, so they could well cash in on Fati.
However, clubs will likely have to consider his concerning injury record when it comes to making a move.

Our view
Fati would certainly be a good shout for Newcastle, and a loan deal is probably the best way to go about it.
If he can stay fit and adds consistent quality to the Magpies squad, then they should push for a deal.
Otherwise, it’ll be a case of ‘it was worth a try’.
