Arsenal are now confident of signing Liverpool target Declan Rice as Mikel Arteta aims to make four new signings this summer.
What’s the story?
Well – according to The Times – Arsenal are optimistic that they can lure the West Ham No.41 to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season despite interest from Chelsea.
It was Simon Phillips who added that Liverpool are keen on the £80m England international as well.
The Times also claim that Arsenal could renew their interest in Moises Caicedo as Arteta targets two new central midfielders, a winger and potentially a new left-back if Kieran Tierney departs.
So far this season, the Scotland international has only started four Premier League games.
Arteta understands that he needs to deepen his squad depth as Arsenal prepare to return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2016/17 campaign.

The Gunners have been able to make the fewest changes to their starting XI of every side in the Premier League this season, following a straightforward Europa League Group Stage campaign.

However, Champions League football next term is expected to place a higher demand on the players.
Liverpool surely have no chance of beating Arsenal to Declan Rice
As things stand, Arsenal have every right to be confident of a deal for Rice – we simply cannot see Liverpool, or Chelsea, beating the Gunners to his signature.
The Reds and the Blues currently sit seventh and tenth in the Premier League respectively, and could find themselves out of European competition next term.
Rice has already spoken about his desire to play in the Champions League, so barring any shock turnarounds from Liverpool or Chelsea, the 24-year-old is highly likely to move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Guardian quote the West Ham captain as saying: “One hundred per cent I want to play in the Champions League. For the last two or three years I’ve been saying that.”
Be sure to keep an eye on Rice this summer, as it seems he could be heading to Arsenal.
