Manchester City are interested in Evan Ndicka as rumours surrounding a move to Liverpool are seemingly cooling.

Pep Guardiola’s men look set to sell Aymeric Laporte this summer after a frustrating season.

Another left-footed centre back would be wanted if Laporte does leave, with Guardiola keen on that balance at the back.

90Min report that City have now joined the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka on a free transfer.

It’s stated that City are looking at Ndicka as a potential alternative to RB Leipzig ace Josko Gvardiol.

Ndicka’s contract ends this summer, meaning he can move on for free – a far cry from the huge fee Gvardiol would cost.

This could be a bargain addition for City whilst links to Liverpool are a little mixed at the moment.

Conflicting rumours surround Liverpool chase for Evan Ndicka

Liverpool have been linked with Gvardiol too and there have been rumours about a deal for Ndicka.

The Mirror report that Liverpool are interested in Ndicka as they look to add a new centre back this summer.

90Min’s report also suggests that Liverpool are looking into signing Ndicka.

However, Goal’s Liverpool reporter Neil Jones has told Redmen TV that his sources suggest Ndicka won’t be joining.

That verdict was echoed by the Liverpool Echo as well as James Pearce for The Athletic.

We’re inclined to believe those strong Liverpool sources here with Ndicka possibly not a priority for the Reds right now.

That could open the door for City to swoop in and secure Ndicka’s signature, adding more depth to Guardiola’s back line.

Hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Sport1’s Christopher Michel, 23-year-old Ndicka has impressed on the left of a back three for Frankfurt and he is bound to attract huge interest on a free transfer.
