Liverpool are now keen to raid Chelsea for Levi Colwill in addition to Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher.
What’s the story?
Well, the Reds clearly sense a golden opportunity to beef up their squad as Chelsea find themselves needing to sell a number of players.
After spending over £600m across the last two transfer windows, the Blues must raise some funds through sales in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, which appears to have put Liverpool on red alert.
The Evening Standard believe Jürgen Klopp would like to sign Mount and Gallagher as he aims to revamp his midfield department, although a new target from Chelsea has now emerged in Colwill.
It is said that Liverpool have made the England Under-21 international a top target as they aim to freshen up their backline, although they face competition from Manchester City and Brighton.

Colwill has spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Brighton, making a real name for himself as many tip him to become a future England star.
The Evening Standard add that comparisons have already been made with John Terry.
Chelsea will be devastated to lose Colwill to Liverpool
Chelsea need to pray that their £600m spending spree works out, as they now look set to part with a lot of talent in order to balance the books.

Colwill is one of the most precocious defenders in England, and his profile as a left-footed, ball playing centre-back is a rare one, to say the least.
In Klopp’s case, he doesn’t actually have a single left-footed central defender at Anfield.
Colwill only has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and Todd Boehly has made it clear that he doesn’t want any players to run down their deals, so a sale definitely seems likely.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation going into the summer, as we are expecting a fire sale at Chelsea.
