Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is unconvinced that Thomas Tuchel would be the right fit to replace Antonio Conte. The Spurs chief is now exploring possible new managers.
That is according to Ben Jacobs, who reports that Conte’s future in north London remains a doubt beyond this season. The Italian is out of contract with Tottenham this summer and is yet to show a willingness to extend. Nor is it likely that they will resolve the situation soon.
Conte is to remain in Italy to continue his recovery after surgery to remove his gall bladder. Cristian Stellini has taken over the reins in the 52-year-old’s place for the foreseeable. But Levy is now looking toward the future in case the Italian then does not extend his contract.

Levy is currently keeping his options open for if Tottenham need a new manager to replace Conte this summer. The Spurs chairman is conducting standard due diligence for potential hires and exploring which head coaches could be available to take charge in north London.
But it is unlikely that Tuchel replaces Conte as Levy doubts the German would be the right fit as manager of Tottenham. Nor is the 49-year-old pushing to return to a dugout at Spurs after five months out of the game. Chelsea fired him in September after 20 months there.

Levy is unconvinced Tuchel should replace Conte as manager of Tottenham
Prior reports by the Evening Standard have suggested that replacing Conte as manager of Tottenham would interest Tuchel. The former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain boss would also welcome talks with Levy over the position as he is ready to return to work.
But Florian Plettenberg has also claimed that Tuchel would favour becoming the next boss of Barcelona or Real Madrid. The 2020/21 Champions League winner would love to replace Xavi at Camp Nou as he has a huge admiration for their Masia academy and Pep Guardiola.

Tuchel will not take any chance to return to management, either. The Daily Mail reports he turned down an approach by West Ham United over replacing David Moyes. So, Levy could have to coax Tuchel to replace Conte if he wants the much-praised manager at Tottenham.
“We have full confidence in the manager and we know we’re not going to get a better manager here,” Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell said, via quotes by football.london, last July. “I’m not just saying it. He’s an unbelievable manager in all aspects.”
