Juventus are reportedly plotting a summer move to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, with the Old Lady keen to beat Liverpool to the Dutchman’s signature.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants have made the 24-year-old Serie A star one of their main midfield targets for the upcoming transfer window, though Juventus already face strong competition for Koopmeiners in the form of Liverpool.
As reported by Ben Jacobs, the Reds have been tracking the Atalanta star for some time as Jurgen Klopp’s side look primed to make an offer to sign the Dutch international in the summer, yet interest from Juventus could cause the Premier League side some issues.
Whilst both European giants are currently unlikely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the pull Juventus have in the Italian market is still one of the greatest in all of Europe, and Koopmeiners could be tempted to swap Bergamo for Turin at the end of the season.

Lauded as ‘extraordinary’ by Atalanta legend Domenico Progna, Koopmeiners has been one of the best midfielders in Serie A since arriving from AZ Alkmaar in 2021, and whilst interest from Liverpool is flattering, Juventus joining the picture could be a game-changer.

Indeed, as mentioned, Juventus have one of the biggest pulls in any domestic division, and for Koopmeiners, the chance to play for the Italian giants at this stage of his career could be too tempting a prospect to turn down, even with major interest from Liverpool.
Juventus could be clear favourites to sign Koopmeiners

Koopmeiners seems to get better with each season, and with two of Europe’s biggest clubs now interested in the Atalanta star, the Dutchman has a big decision to make come the end of this campaign, though Juventus might be confident in beating Liverpool in this transfer battle.
With neither side likely to qualify for Europe’s premier club competition for next season, Liverpool could miss out on signing Koopmeiners to Juventus given how attractive an option the Old Lady could be in the summer, especially if the Italian side’s issues are fully dealt with.
