Inter Milan are reportedly in talks to appoint FC Porto manager Sergio Conceicao, with the 48-year-old believed to also be a target for Tottenham as a permanent replacement for Antonio Conte.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Primeira Liga coach is Inter’s number one choice to replace Simone Inazghi this summer despite rumours that Conte was in line for a dramatic return to the San Siro having been dismissed from his position at Tottenham last month.
Conceicao, a former Inter player, is regarded by many as one of the best managers in Europe not working in a top-five league, with the Portuguese coach guiding Porto to nine trophies in the last five years and establishing the Dragoes as a regular in the UEFA Champions League.
As a result, Tottenham are interested in appointing Conceicao as their manager for next season as reported by Sky Sports News, with the Porto man a potential favourite with Julian Nagelsmann likely to take the Chelsea job and other targets seemingly out of reach for Daniel Levy.

However, with Inter now in talks to appoint Conceicao, there could now be a real fear at Tottenham that the Portuguese coach will reject a move to the Premier League to return to the Neurazzuri as their manager, a prospect that has been in the making for some time.

Indeed, whilst Conceicao could be brilliant at Tottenham, being appointed as manager of Inter would be too big an opportunity to turn down for the Porto man, and Spurs could soon find themselves running out of potential candidates to appoint ahead of the summer.
Inter appointing Conceicao could be a massive blow for Tottenham

Conceicao has more than earned his reputation after a sensational job at Porto over the last five years, yet while the Premier League could be a great move for the former midfielder, moving to Inter makes too much sense for the Portuguese coach at this stage of his career, much to Tottenham’s dismay.
As we know, Conceicao is a fan favourite at the San Siro and has been tipped with a return to Inter for what feels like years. And whilst Tottenham could be a great project for the Porto boss, a call from San Siro will simply be too much to reject this summer.
