Crystal Palace now expected to make move for £100,000-a-week Leeds target

Crystal Palace are now expected to be back in the market for Leeds target Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.

What’s the story?

Well – according to the BBC – Crystal Palace wanted to sign their academy graduate from Manchester United back in May 2022 while also pursuing a deal for Cheick Doucoure.

90min then claimed in December that Leeds wanted to sign Wan-Bissaka.

Now, Crystal Palace are set to reignite their interest in the £100,000-a-week man.

The Sun believe the south Londoners are expected to be back in the market for Wan-Bissaka this summer with Manchester United now willing to offload their £50m defender.

Erik ten Hag has preferred Diogo Dalot at right-back for the majority of this season, meaning the Crystal Palace target has only made nine Premier League starts in the current campaign.

Wan-Bissaka did enjoy a resurgence of sorts after the World Cup break, notably with his excellent display up against Allan Saint-Maximin in the Carabao Cup final.

Unfortunately, Ten Hag simply doesn’t appear to see him as Manchester United’s long-term option at right-back.

Crystal Palace must beat Leeds to Wan-Bissaka

The most problematic area at Selhurst Park nowadays is the right-back department.

Crystal Palace find themselves with two ageing options in the 33-year-old Joel Ward and the 32-year-old Nathaniel Clyne, both of whom have failed to make the right-back position their own this season.

The Eagles desperately need a fresh face in that department, so they must do all they can to beat Leeds to Wan-Bissaka’s signature.

In truth, after three successive wins under Roy Hodgson took Crystal Palace up to 36 points – all but securing their place in the Premier League – planning can start over a move, whereas Leeds are still in danger and will struggle to convince targets to join as things stand.

The Whites currently find themselves two points above the relegation zone with eight games to go.

Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as Wan-Bissaka seems set to leave Old Trafford this summer.
