Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer transfer window, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk in CaughtOffSide.
Falk has reported that Arsenal are among the clubs who are scouting the 21-year-old Dutch centre-back.
The German journalist has claimed that Manchester City are also keen on the youngster, who is valued at €30 million (£26.5 million).
Falk has outlined the attributes of the youngster as well in his report.
Van de Ven signed a new contract with Wolfsburg earlier this month that will see him stay at the German club until 2027.
Arsenal linked with Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven
Falk wrote: “The player is talented and very fast for a centre-back – 35.9km per hour; that’s really quick for such a player.
“He has a contract until 2027 and no release clause but Wolfsburg would be prepared to talk if they received an offer of €30m.

“The player himself has said he has no problem with staying another year but has also mentioned he’s open for a switch to Spain and the Premier League. So he’s already thinking about his future.
“Many clubs are scouting him at the moment, it’s a really long list; Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma, AC Milan… so you see, he’s a very attractive option.
“It’s not the case that he feels he has to leave this summer but I think if he keeps up the quality of his performances this season, next summer one of these clubs will be prepared to pay what Wolfsburg are looking for.”
Could a summer transfer happen?
In our view, Arsenal could be able to sign Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer transfer window.
Yes, the 21-year-old has signed a new deal, but that really does not mean anything expect that Wolfsburg will demand a decent transfer fee.
And if that is £26.5 million, then it is very possible that Arsenal will be able to get the Dutchman if they are able to convince him to move to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the other teams who are in for him.
