Arsenal transfer news: Gunners could now move very quickly to sign

Arsenal want Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and could make their move for the Lazio midfielder ‘soon’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that Milinkovic-Savic has a new contract offer on the table.

However, Milinkovic-Savic has yet to decide on whether he wants to accept the terms on offer, leaving the door open to an exit.

It’s added that Arsenal are interested in Milinkovic-Savic and ‘could soon move’ to bring him to North London this summer.

Milinkovic-Savic is out of contract in 2024 and his value on the transfer market will be dwindling as he nears becoming a free agent.

If Lazio can’t convince Milinkovic-Savic to sign a new deal, they may well be forced to sell the midfielder this summer.

That could play right into Arsenal’s hands as they attempt to secure something of a bargain for the Serbian midfielder.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could be an upgrade on Granit Xhaka

Few would have really predicted Granit Xhaka to turn around his Arsenal career in this kind of fashion.

The Swiss midfielder has become a key player for Mikel Arteta but many fans will also understand that a more impactful attacking threat may be needed to keep Arsenal going forward.

Milinkovic-Savic could be that player.

The 28-year-old has been a real attacking force for Lazio for a long time now, as seen with 11 goals and 11 assists last season.

A powerful box-to-box midfielder who can contribute so much going forward, Milinkovic-Savic could be a real coup for Arsenal.

Hailed as a ‘wonderful’ midfielder who should cost around £88m midfielder, Milinkovic-Savic may now come much cheaper as his contract runs down.

The summer transfer window is still a few months away but Arsenal could try to strike early and get Milinkovic-Savic on board for next season before other clubs can move.
