Arsenal coaching staff got involved with £110,000-a-week player today

According to CBS Sports journalist James Benge on Twitter, Arsenal coaching staff had to ease Granit Xhaka away from the fourth official in the second half of the Premier League game against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Benge was following the match between Arsenal and Bournemouth in North London today.

The Gunners won the Premier League game 3-2.

Arsenal were 2-0 down at one stage.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side launched a late comeback and eventually scored three goals to pick up all three points from the encounter.

Xhaka did not start the match.

The £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) Switzerland international midfielder came as a substitute in the second half.

Benge has noted that while Xhaka was on the bench, he was not happy with Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto taking a lot of time over dead balls.

Neto was clearly wasting as much time as he could.

And Xhaka wanted the fourth official to do something about it.

As Benge noted, the Swiss star had to be taken away from the fourth official by the Arsenal coaching staff.

Xhaka could have put himself in trouble with his action.
