Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka sees his future at Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta eyes a new contract. But the Swiss star has attracted interest from all around Europe in a transfer.
That is according to Graeme Bailey, who reports clubs in Italy, Germany and Spain are now exploring deals for Xhaka. The 30-year-old’s impressive efforts in Arsenal’s Premier League title charge have, above all, enticed Serie A teams to study prising him from Arteta’s grasp.
Teams sense a chance to sign the 112-cap international as Xhaka enters the last year of his contract this summer. He put pen to paper on a new deal to June 2024 with the option for a further 12 months in August 2021. Yet it is highly likely Xhaka will, again, extend his terms.

Xhaka is not demanding a substantial amount to sign a new contract after Arteta green-lit talks over his future at Arsenal. Some at the Emirates had questioned the midfielder giving enough this term to merit a new deal. But his performances have totally convinced Arteta.
His efforts toward their Premier League title challenge have also blown several club chiefs away. Now, Arsenal are in talks with Xhaka over a new contract and he sees his future with Arteta’s side. The progress the Gunners have made under Arteta has influenced his stance.

Xhaka to deal Juventus a transfer blow by signing a new contract with Arsenal
Xhaka, who Gary Neville claims is capable of ‘absolutely wonderful’ moments, could deal Juventus a blow ahead of the transfer window by signing a new contract with Arsenal. The Serie A side are among the Italian clubs interested in prising the midfielder away this year.
That is according to CalcioMercatoWeb, which reported recently that Juventus could look to include Xhaka in part-exchange for Manuel Locatelli. Arsenal are exploring a deal to sign the Italian from the Bianconeri. The Turin side are also not against his departure from the club.
But Xhaka renewing his contract at Arsenal could complicate any transfer with Juventus for Locatelli. The 25-year-old is on loan at the Allianz Stadium. But the Bianconeri have a €35m (£31m) obligation to buy the 24-cap Italy midfielder from Sassuolo at the end of this term.
