The Mirror claim Thomas Tuchel ‘fits the bill’ for Daniel Levy as Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager to replace Antonio Conte – and the German gaffer is keen on his next job being in the Premier League. Spurs are pursuing a new gaffer.
Conte’s future at Spurs looks pretty destined to come to an end in the summer. His deal ends in June, and Mail+ claim that the Spurs board have no intention of triggering the 12-month extension clause that resides in his current deal.
Plenty of managers have been linked with replacing Conte, who looks well-placed to guide Spurs into the top four again. Mauricio Pochettino, Marco Silva, Thomas Frank and Luis Enrique are some of a number of manager options.
But the report from The Mirror claims that Tuchel ticks all the boxes for chairman Levy. He wants a manager with Premier League experience, and the German wants his next job in England – after leaving Chelsea earlier this season.

Tuchel enjoyed a wonderful stint as Chelsea boss and despite his start to the 2022-23 season as Chelsea manager, many still believe he was harshly sacked. He won 60 of his 100 Chelsea games, lifting the Champions League trophy.
Spurs have got to get this managerial appointment right. It means so much. Next season, the club will be in a good state to go and challenge for trophies, if Conte gets fourth. Also, the new gaffer could determine Harry Kane’s future.
Tuchel would certainly tempt Kane to stay at Spurs. Even if it means he does not sign a new deal, but at least chooses to remain in North London. So, Tuchel suits Levy, perhaps helps keep Kane and strengthens the chance for trophies.
