The UK’s biggest annual telethon is back on Friday (March 17, 2023) as Comic Relief continues its fundraising efforts. This year, Red Nose Day is focused on aiding families suffering from the cost of living crisis and the devastating Turkey-Syria earthquakes.
Whether it be physical challenges or a fancy dress day at work, Comic Relief urges the public to participate in fundraisers. If you’re more of a baker, you can sell your delicious creations, but don’t forget the Red Nose Day-themed decorations.
The charity has not released official cake garnishes, so HITC has gathered a list of retailers to purchase alternatives.
Where to buy Comic Relief cake toppers for Red Nose Day 2023
Comic Relief previously partnered with Sainsbury’s for a cupcake kit for £2.50; it is unavailable this year since merchandise is sold exclusively through TK Maxx, Homesense, and Amazon.
Don’t worry, you can still get your bake on with these cake toppers created by online small businesses. They are sold via Amazon.

DIY your own Red Nose Day cake decorations
If you don’t want to buy specific accessories to decorate your baked goodies, here are some methods to create your own with easy ingredients and crafts you’ll have at home already.
Paper cake toppers
- Search for your favourite Red Nose Day and Comic Relief designs on Google and print out your designed quantity.
- Cut them out and using tape, stick them onto skewers or toothpicks
- Insert into your cakes and muffins – voila
Icing Red Nose smiley face design
- Roll out red ready-to-roll icing and cut out circles so that it fits perfectly on top of your cakes. Alternatively, pipe red icing on top.
- Roll small spheres of red icing to create small noses and place them on the cake centre.
- Create small circles with white icing to make eyes
- Pipe semi-circles underneath the red icing noses on the cupcake with black icing to create a smile.
