Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson wants a minimum of £25 million for Alex Scott as Premier League trio Newcastle United, Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur eye the Championship ace, speaking to Bristol Live.
If there was one area of Scott’s game that needed some serious work, it was in the ‘goals’ department. The England U20 international appears to be on the right track at least, finally scoring his first league strike of the campaign during Saturday’s 2-0 triumph over labouring Blackpool.
Scott, that lack of finishing aside, continues to blossom in the second-tier; arguably the most exciting teenage talent in the whole of the EFL.

And Pearson, who believes Scott will play for England’s senior side at some point in the future, insists the so-called ‘Guernsey Grealish’ should not leave Ashton Gate for anything less than a record-breaking fee.
Adam Webster is currently the most expensive export in Bristol City’s history; a £20 million signing for Brighton in 2019.
Tottenham, West Ham, Wolves and Newcastle like Alex Scott
“It wouldn’t surprise me that clubs are interested in him,” Pearson begins. “But there have been no bids. (It) will have to be a really big bid to get him.
“He has to be more than £25m. He shouldn’t go for less than that. Since he made his debut, he’s played upmost of 80 games for us. Some people talk about playing in a second season, you can get a drop-off. But I don’t think we have seen that at all.

“I’m aware of speculation but that’s all it is. There’s no doubt in my mind we’ll have to deal with bids this summer, I think that will happen. But it’s speculation at the minute.”
Newcastle, according to The Sun, are keeping a very close eye on Scott. The Magpies, defeated in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final by Manchester United, appear to be building a squad based around talented, homegrown youngsters and 19-year-old Scott would fit in nicely alongside Anthony Gordon, Elliot Anderson and co.
Tottenham, West Ham, Wolves and Crystal Palace are also in hot pursuit.
“He’s managed to continue his development with a pretty steady upward curve over the two years. I think that speaks volumes about his ability and his potential too,” former Leicester City boss Pearson adds.
“It’s difficult for a young man not to have an interest in (the speculation). He will play for a top side, absolutely no doubt in my mind about that. He will go onto really big things.”
