Tim Sherwood has told Tottenham Hotspur to appoint Roberto De Zerbi as their next manager after Brighton and Hove Albion’s 2-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The former Aston Villa boss thinks Roberto De Zerbi is the ‘real deal’ and, after tipping the Italian for the Chelsea job, he now thinks Spurs should look at him.
Daniel Levy just recently sacked an outspoken Italian in Antonio Conte, and as De Zerbi proved with his confrontation with Cristian Stellini, he isn’t shy to say what he feels, either.

But whilst De Zerbi does his talking on the touchline, his team are matching that with their performances on the field of play.
Pushing for a Champions League spot, despite losing their top scorer, Leandro Trossard, to Arsenal in January, their performance levels have also gone up.
And, for Tim Sherwood, the Seagulls are his ‘second favourite team’ to watch, as he told Premier League Productions (16/04/23 at 10:05 pm).
“I would have locked the gates at the Bridge there and not let him (De Zerbi) leave until he has agreed to join Chelsea as manager next season,” said Sherwood.

“Tottenham are looking for a manager. They could do a lot worse than go for this man. He is the real deal. He plays with high energy. He keeps the ball. He controls it, like Potter’s Brighton did, but he penetrates all the time.
“He shines them all in the correct light and it’s an incredible job he is doing. Certainly my second favourite team in the Premier League.”

THE POTTER LESSON
It will be interesting to see if Graham Potter now regrets his Chelsea move because he was swallowed up by a club that’s in a world of a mess.
If De Zerbi decides to join Spurs, then the same will happen to him, especially if they sell Harry Kane in the summer and miss out on Champions League football given their current performances.
Tottenham need to sort out their mess upstairs before they can start to appoint an attack-minded manager to move them forward again.
