Swarm is the latest series to take Prime Video by storm as it offers viewers a chilling insight into obsessive fandom but after delving into its opening chapters, fans have begun to ask how many episodes the thriller has in total.
Fresh from helming the fourth and final season of Atlanta, Donald Glover and Janine Nabers have teamed up for their latest project, Swarm, which follows a young woman named Dre who is a massive fan of world-famous pop star, Ni’Jah.
As the episodes progress, Dre’s fandom becomes increasingly violent and outlandish, leaving viewers wanting more but given Prime Video’s recent trend of releasing shows on a weekly basis, many have been left wondering how many episodes Swarm will feature and when they’ll all be released.
Swarm: Release date and plot preview
Swarm buzzed its way onto Prime Video on Friday, March 17, 2023.
Created by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers and inspired by real-world events, the series follows a young woman named Andrea “Dre” Greene (Dominique Fishback) whose obsession with world-renowned pop star Ni’Jah borders on the extreme.
So much so that Dre is willing to venture into some unexpectedly dark and violent places to defend her musical idol.
How many episodes are in Swarm?
Swarm consists of seven episodes in total.
All seven of which were released at once on March 17.
This means fans can binge the thrilling series at their own pace rather than having to wait weekly for new chapters.

For the most part, the series follows Dre’s murderous actions as she defends her musical idol but episode 6 takes an unexpected turn as it briefly takes on the guide of a true-crime documentary in its sixth episode as we follow a detective attempting to piece together the string of crimes Dre has committed.

Season 2 chances explored
Swarm’s future beyond its opening seven episodes is currently undecided as Amazon has yet to renew the series for a second season.
However, there are a number of factors that stand the series in good stead to potentially continue.
The first of which is the fact that Prime Video has not listed the series as a limited mini-series – where a show ends after one season – meaning it has the potential to run for more episodes should the writers see fit.
On top of that, thanks in part to some big-name guest appearances such as Billie Eilish, Swarm has attracted a fair amount of attention from viewers, which should hopefully earn the series enough popularity to warrant a second season.
