YouTube channel weCricket, founded by Dan Jadzevics and Kieran ‘Kez’ Hornsby, recently released a statement announcing it was ‘on hold for the foreseeable future’. Countless fans flooded the comments wishing the pair well and expressing their gratitude.
Popular cricket YouTube channel weCricket has released a statement announcing it “will be put on hold for the foreseeable future”.
WeCricket currently has 408k subscribers on YouTube and has made a name for itself in the cricket community with its unique and independent cricket content. WeCricket has worked with countless professional players in its viral videos, including England star Adil Rashid and Pakistan international Imam-ul-Haq.
The channel’s tagline is ‘Trying to make cricket interesting,’ and judging by the outpouring of responses to their recent channel statement, they did just that.
weCricket’s future in doubt after emotional statement by co-founder Dan Jadzevics
On 26 March 2023, weCricket’s YouTube channel released a video titled ‘Channel Statement’.
The short, 55-second clip features an emotional-looking Dan Jadzevics, who is the co-founder of weCricket with partner Kieran ‘Kez’ Hornsby, announcing the channel is taking a step back.
“This is a statement I never thought I would be having to record”, Jadzevics starts out.
“It is with a heavy heart that weCricket will be put on hold for the foreseeable future. This will include the podcast and all social media platforms.”
Dan goes on, “Thank you to you all for watching and listening to everything that weCricket was. It has been an amazing journey and I’m incredibly grateful to all of you for making that journey possible.

“I definitely don’t see this as being the end of my journey with content creation, and I will update you as soon as I can. I also appreciate this video will prompt lots of questions, I would just ask for your patience and your respect as I won’t be able to answer those. Thank you.”
Devastated fans react to the news that weCricket is taking a step back
The statement video was flooded with comments by weCricket fans thanking the channel for all that it’s done.
‘It was always fun watching both of their antics on the channel, hope everything’s alright with them and they continue later with cricket content creation later when whatever the issue is, is resolved,’ one fan wrote on Twitter.
‘I just wanted to say thanks to you blokes dan and kez for making my quarantine life better in 2020, and for continuously putting out must watch cricket videos for a huge cricket fanbase. you will be heavily missed by all of your subscribers, and I hope you can work out whatever is going on,’ a YouTube commentor wrote.
‘Dan (and Kez) this channel has been my favourite place over the last few years, thankyou for creating amazing content. Whatever is happening, look after yourselves first and foremost,’ a third added.
It remains to be seen what happens with weCricket in the future. The channel has it’s own merchandise and Patreon, as well as a Twitter account with 16.8k followers and an Instagram account with over 91k followers.
At present Kieran ‘Kez’ Hornsby’s social media accounts, including Twitter and Instagram, appear to have been deactivated.
Co-founder Dan Jadzevics is the host of the Golden Ducks podcast, and is a Twitch partner, Livestream Host, and cricket commentator. He has also worked with the ECB, the PCA, Sky Sports & multiple other cricket brands.
