Brighton and Hove Albion ace Joel Veltman claims teammate Moises Caicedo has now accepted the club’s decision to block a move to Arsenal.
Caicedo was involved in one of the biggest late-window stories in January.
The midfielder was a top target for Arsenal in the final days of the winter transfer window.
Arsenal made two bids, the second of which totalled around £70million, but Brighton said no.
Caicedo took to Instagram to beg Brighton to let him go to Arsenal but the Seagulls were unmoved.
The Gunners were moved to move on and instead snapped up Jorginho from London rivals Chelsea.
Caicedo has now done a U-turn on his Brighton future having agreed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2027.
Interest from Premier League giants may well arrive this summer but this new deal means Brighton are in a very strong negotiating position.

Brighton teammate Joel Veltman has now offered his verdict on Caicedo’s future whilst speaking to The Athletic.
Veltman believes Caicedo has now shown his mentality by focusing himself on Brighton for the foreseeable future.
The Dutchman noted that everyone saw the Instagram post and Caicedo wanted to push for a move to Arsenal.
Veltman admitted that it’s ‘difficult’ to say no when clubs like Arsenal come calling and he totally understands why Caicedo wanted the move.
Yet Veltman now believes Caicedo has accepted the move isn’t happening and is ready to put it all to one side in order to give his all for Brighton moving forward.
“It says a lot of things about his mentality. We all saw the Instagram post,” said Veltman. “Now we know he has signed a new contract, which is really good for him and for the club as well. It gives a sign to everyone else. He wants to fight for the rest of the season and maybe even more. He’s signed until 2027. It’s a big thing. He’s really important for us, such a great player.”
“It says lots of things about the club as well. He wanted to leave because he’s played amazing and he could go to Arsenal but he’s still young. It’s difficult to say no to those sort of clubs, I totally understand, but now he has accepted it,” he added.
