Leeds United fans will love how Tottenham target Illan Meslier arrived for international duty with France.
What’s the story?
Well, the £22,000-a-week man posted a photo of himself arriving at Clairefontaine as France prepare to take on the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland in their EURO 2024 qualifiers.
Meslier – who Phil Hay of The Athletic believes is a target for Tottenham – earns more than enough to afford a top of the range bag to carry his belongings.
However, the 23-year-old could be seen carrying two carrier bags with the Leeds United badge on it, which appear to have come straight out of the club shop at Elland Road.

Meslier earned the call from Didier Deschamps after keeping five clean sheets in 27 Premier League appearances for Leeds this season, with his recent efforts in between the sticks helping Javi Gracia record two wins and a draw from the last four outings.

The Leeds No.1 has played a huge role in the recent turnaround under the Spaniard, with the Whites now sitting 14th in the Premier League after creating a tiny bit of breathing room for themselves – two points above the relegation zone.
Leeds could lose Meslier to Tottenham
Hay is one of the most reliable journalists around when it comes to Leeds, so Tottenham’s interest must be taken seriously.
Spurs are on the lookout for a new long-term No.1 in between the sticks, as Hugo Lloris turns 37 in December.

If Leeds do end up suffering relegation to the Championship, they will surely have no chance of keeping Meslier, who is now regarded as the best young goalkeeper across Europe.
Even if Gracia steers Leeds to safety, there is sure to be a fight to keep Meslier in Yorkshire.
Be sure to keep an eye on the situation this summer, as anything could happen.
