Arsenal & Tottenham now fighting for £22m player Jürgen Klopp was told not to sign

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has raved about Mohamed Salah after his performance against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Klopp was speaking to Sky Sports after Liverpool’s quite remarkable 5-0 win over Manchester United.

Klopp watched on as Salah scored twice against United and set up another two in a devastating performance.

That means Salah has now gone past Robbie Fowler and has become Liverpool’s leading goalscorer in Premier League history.

Klopp paid tribute to Salah and called his record-breaking feat ‘absolutely insane’.

The German added that Salah is a ‘special player’ and Liverpool fans will really realise just how great he is when they look back at his time at Anfield.

“It’s insane, it’s insane – 129 goals is absolutely insane, what a number,” said Klopp. “He’s a special player, a very special player, we appreciate him now, already, but in the future, looking back, people will realise… ‘wow, we witness something really special’,” he added.

Mohamed Salah vital to Liverpool win

Maybe Salah hasn’t quite had the eye-popping performances and numbers as last season, but this as a reminder of his world-class talent.

Salah was unstoppable against United, setting up Cody Gakpo’s second goal by leaving Lisandro Martinez humiliated.

Salah then smashed home Liverpool’s fourth and grabbed another with number six.

The Egyptian even had time to grab another assist as he set up Roberto Firmino to make it 7-0.

This was absolutely peak Salah and it was fitting that such an incredible display ends up becoming a record-breaking one.

Salah now moves on to 11 goals and seven assists in 25 Premier League games this season.

The 30-year-old may have hoped for a little better but it’s clear that he is still the main man at Anfield.

After absolutely destroying United, Salah’s focus will turn to making sure Liverpool sneak into the top four and secure Champions League football for next season.
