Jamie Carragher has said on Gary Neville’s podcast that people outside the club do not understand that Liverpool fans absolutely love Darwin Nunez.
The former Liverpool defender has said that while Nunez may have missed chances this season, the fans have always been behind him and love the way he plays.
Carragher made the comments about the 23-year-old Uruguay international forward after Liverpool’s 7-0 win against Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
Nunez scored two goals for Jurgen Klopp’s side, first in the 47th minute and then on 75 minutes.

Improving
Darwin Nunez is a very good and promising young forward who can be a big player for Liverpool in the future.
The problem with the striker so far this season is that he has not been taking his chances.

We have often seen Nunez get into very good positions and get chances, but he has simply not scored as many goals as he should have.

However, things looked different against Manchester United on Sunday.
The striker was clinical and took his two goals well.
Maybe, just maybe, something has clicked now.
Other than that, Nunez has been superb for the Reds so far this campaign.
The Liverpool forward is always a handful to the opposition, works hard, tracks back, and is available for his teammates even during the toughest of times.
