The Misery Business band was supposed to perform alongside The 1975, The Black Keys, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Yellowcard, and more.

In a short post shared on Paramore’s Instagram Stories, it said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Paramore can no longer attend and perform at iHeartRadio ALTer EGO on January 13.

“The band apologizes for any inconvenience.”

However, the band was quickly replaced with Fall Out Boy.

SIGNS OF A BREAK UP

Fans were uncertain of the band’s future after their recent social media posts.

As of writing, their Instagram account was completely wiped – including their profile picture – even lead singer Hayley William’s account has zero posts.

When fans went to the band’s official website, they received a 404 Not Found error.

In mid-December, the band shared a screenshot of an interview reading: “Now that Paramore has spent the year touring behind This Is Why (and making sure to take better care of themselves while they’re at it), a chapter of the band’s career has come to a close. They’ve now fulfilled all label obligations and are effectively free agents. As for the future of Paramore, all three members agreed that there’s a level of uncertainty.”

NOT SO FAST

However, in the same interview, it read: “But one thing’s for sure — they’re still going to be together, and they’re still going to keep having fun.

“The only thing that matters is we will still get to be each other’s community,” Hayley stated.

Her bandmate, Zac agreed: “I just hope we can keep building the Paramore empire and then rule the world.”

WHAT FANS THINK

After the announcement that Paramore pulled out of the festival, fans flooded to X, formerly Twitter, to share their concerns about the band potentially breaking up.

One fan exclaimed: “IS PARAMORE BREAKING UP?”

A second added: “paramore is breaking up y’all.”

“If paramore is breaking up just put me out of my misery now i don’t want to know,” wrote a third.

‘IT’S PRETTY COMMON’

Before the festival announcement, a user shared a post on Reddit titled Paramore aren’t breaking up – and fans shared their theories on why the band decided to go silent.

As of January 4, Paramore is still set to tour with Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour as she takes the highly demanded concert to Europe.

One fan wrote: “Artists nuking their socials before a new era is pretty common these days, and them changing record labels/starting a label/going independent/whatever it is they’re choosing to do is a pretty massive event.

“They’ll come back in a week or two with new band photos and maybe new branding and/or logo and people are going to be wondering what they were worrying about before.”
