Tottenham target Jordan Pickford has been described as “outstanding” for his display in a 2-0 defeat earlier today.
The England international – who is wanted by Spurs – was undone by goals from Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial, although he can certainly leave Old Trafford with his head held high.
What’s the story?
Well – according to The Sun – Tottenham are keen to sign Pickford as they attempt to find a replacement for Hugo Lloris.
The Everton No.1 will surely be disappointed not to help his side pick up a result against Manchester United, although he did himself proud – James Tarkowski certainly thinks so, anyway.
Pickford’s teammate told BBC Sport: “He’s outstanding, and you see it today because we gave them golden opportunities. I think it’s just a reminder of the levels we need to be at to stay in this league. It’s a minor blip in what has been a good run. We’ve just got to focus on the next one.”

SofaScore shows that Pickford made nine saves against Manchester United, while the £30m man also completed 13 long-range passes as he aimed to help Everton play out from the back.

It was an excellent display from the Tottenham target – you can see why those at Spurs are keen to sign him.
Tottenham must pinch Pickford this summer
Regardless of whether Everton stay up or drop into the Championship, Tottenham have to lure Pickford to N17.
The 29-year-old has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League across recent years, and is one of the most effective glovesmen England have had at international level for some time now.
A deal should also be quite straightforward to complete if Everton drop into the Championship, as Pickford will surely be keen to continue playing top-flight football.
The Sunderland-born goalkeeper did, however, sign a new four-and-a-half year contract at Goodison Park back in February, so if Everton stay up, Tottenham may have to offer a substantial amount of money to prise him away.
