OutDaughtered’s Danielle Busby still struggles with health issues as carrying quintuplets left mom with ‘nerve damage’

Danielle, 40, spoke about her alarming challenges in a new interview with Parade, where she claimed she suffered “nerve damage” after giving birth.

The reality star told the outlet that she’s encountered “migraines, neck and body pain, heart palpitations and more”, which have had “debilitating effects on her everyday life.”

“I have been pretty solid and pretty good probably the last like eight or so months. I have been on a routine of, you know, seeing doctors, kind of discovering, like, all the struggles with like my nervous system,” she explained.

MOTHER OF SIX

Danielle shares her quintuplet daughters, Ava, Olivia, Hazel, Riley, and Parker with her husband Adam Busby, 41.

The couple also has a 13-year-old daughter named Blayke.

The undertaking of carrying five babies at once left lasting effects on both her heart and nervous system.

“Now that the kids are getting more independent, my body itself has actually slowed down a lot.

“So I’ve had a lot of inflammation, a lot of swelling, a lot of weight gain, to losing some weight to weight gain,” she explained.

The Houston, Texas native added, “It’s just like this, this up and down curve.”

MEDICAL TREATMENT

Danielle has committed to regular bloodwork in the years since her pregnancy, through which her doctors have discovered vitamin deficiencies.

We wanted one more kid then ended up with all-female quintuplets – we change 420 nappies a week and make 40 bottles daily

“I do take certain medications to help with a lot of like the nerve damage and the triggering, that I get up my neck until like the back of my head, which brings on these migraines and whatnot,” she told Parade.

“I see medical doctors, but I also have like a holistic route of just certain vitamins and like certain things that we intake to help.”

Although Danielle’s medical team has yet to pinpoint an exact term for the pain she’s experiencing, they are currently treating her for  “migraines, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune disease.”

“I think there are some people who can relate, but there’s also some people who don’t understand, and there’s no medical diagnosis for me,” the mother of six noted.

“But I get kind of treated for a bunch of different things.”

GROWING UP

Season 10 of OutDaughtered premiered this month on TLC.

The quintuplets entered the third grade, presenting new challenges for the large family.

“I do want the girls to be as prepared as possible going into third grade, but it is very hard to try to read a book with five kids all at the same time,” Dad Adam confessed in the premiere episode.

“It’s hard, especially in our case, because we do have quintuplets and they don’t get that one-on-one attention like Blayke did,” Danielle agreed in a confessional.

“I would be doing it for five hours a day. That’s just not realistic.”

On the topic of reading, the TV personality added, “Some of the quints just kind of still struggle a little bit, going from COVID kindergarten to this huge school was really hard.

“So we’re still trying to figure that out,” she explained, becoming emotional on camera.
