Arsene Wenger believes that Manchester City are the only threat that can stop Arsenal from winning the Premier League, with the Gunners once again leading the current champions.
Speaking to Bein Sports, the Arsenal legend claimed that the only team Mikel Arteta has to worry about is City, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United out of reach from the north London side despite how many games are left to be played this season.
The Gunners returned to top spot in the Premier League this weekend after a 4-2 win against Aston Villa with City slipping up against Nottingham Forest, and Arsenal could extend that lead to five points if they win their game in hand next week against Everton.
Many pundits believe that this is Arsenal’s best chance to win the Premier League since Wenger last managed the feat in the 2003/04 season, and for the Frenchman himself, the Gunners have a strong chance if they’re able to get the best of City.

The former Arsenal manager said when asked about who could challenge the north London side for the English title: “The usual threats in the Premier League are out of the race. The only threat is Manchester City, and even they aren’t as dominant as last year, or the two years prior.”

Wenger added: “Since the start of the season, City are more vulnerable defensively, which hasn’t been the case in recent years. I feel as though you win it when you can and when you’re not worrying about the rest; you let others talk and you take the title.”
Arsenal winning the title will rely on City slipping up more

Many would agree that it has been an unusual season for City. Whilst the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne are on pace to break the goalscoring and assist records for an individual campaign, the collective force just hasn’t been there for Guardiola. And this could be what helps Arsenal win the league.
Indeed, the north London side have been the best squad in England this season and are only going to get better given how young the team is. And for Arsenal to win the league this campaign, they will need luck from other clubs around them in beating City to help widen the gap in the weeks to come.
