Oscars 2023 is about to make a big switch as it confirmed champagne-colored carpets for this year’s Academy Awards, but why is there no red carpet this year?
People have been gearing up to see the Oscars 2023 after the infamous slap that took place last year. This year, Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the award show and there is no doubt it is going to be entertaining.
At the same time, as always the excitement for the red carpet event continues, but things are expected to be different this year.

Why is there no red carpet at the Oscars?
This year there is no red carpet because Academy Awards has decided to switch it to a champagne color theme.
The red carpet creative consultant Lisa Love stated that the decision was made to ensure the color would allow for a seamless transition from daytime to evening event.
Given that the celebrities start arriving at the venue around 4 pm, it was thought that the champagne color would be fitter.
At the same time, it acted as a perfect fit against the orange tents that will be put up.
Jimmy Kimmel jokes about the new carpet
Jimmy did not hold back to poke fun at what happened at the Oscars last year.

He said: “People have been asking, ‘Is there going to be any trouble this year? Is there going to be any violence this year?’ And we certainly hope not.”
“But if there is, I think the decision to go with a champagne carpet rather than a red carpet shows how confident we are that no blood will be shed. This is the kind of thing you only see in Hollywood and every model home in America. “I’ve never really done play-by-play for carpeting before.”
