Premier League target Gabri Veiga could join forces with super-agent Jorge Mendes ahead of a potential summer move with Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United all chasing the Celta Vigo starlet.
You won’t find many midfielders in Europe’s major leagues with a better goals-per-minute ratio than Veiga.
One more and the Spain U21 international will mark his debut campaign with double figures, reaching nine with a gorgeous curling finish during the 3-1 triumph over Espanyol before the international break.

The battle for Veiga’s signature, meanwhile, will be more fiercely contested than for a family pack of Prime at a secondary school raffle.
Manchester United, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all big fans of this ‘outstanding’ young talent, per The Mirror, while Newcastle could put their considerable money where their mouth is by triggering Veiga’s £33 million release clause and putting forward a contract worth around £85,000-a-week.
Will Manchester City snatch Arsenal target Gabri Veiga?
It’s not just the clubs in hot pursuit of the Celta Vigo talisman. According to Sport, Veiga has his pick of the game’s most influential representatives too. Veiga is currently without an agent but finds himself in the crosshairs of Jonathan Barnett, Pini Zahavi and Jorge Mendes.

Mendes, Sport say, is currently in pole position.
And a partnership with Mendes’ Gestifute agency will do Manchester City’s hopes of luring Veiga to the Etihad Stadium no harm at all. Mendes helped take Ederson Moraes, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva to City, after all. Including Bayern Munich loanee Joao Cancelo, there are currently four Gestifute clients on Pep Guardiola’s roster, compared to just one (Fabio Vieira) at Arsenal.
This does not mean that Man City would automatically become favourites for Veiga. The supposed Real Madrid target is reportedly keen on the idea of joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal revolution. But a partnership with Mendes would certainly be more of a help than a hinderance.
“(Veiga’s) physical development has greatly influenced his career. He had a great development in the youth team; he became very powerful and very strong,” Carlos Hugo Bayon, director of the Celta academy, tells AS.
“That has helped him play his type of football. ‘Box to box’, as they say in England. A midfielder with these numbers and these instincts in the opposition penalty area are pure gold. An outstanding player.”
