ONLY Murders in the Building co-creator John Hoffman has revealed whether fans will see Selena Gomez’s boyfriend on the upcoming season.
He also said that they are “so cute” together and that Benny Blanco hangs around the set a lot.
The U.S. Sun spoke exclusively with John at the Writer’s Guild Awards on April 14 in Los Angeles, California.
During his red carpet interview, he spilled some insight for the upcoming seasons of OMITB and whether or not we will see Selena, 31, and Benny’s chemistry make it to the screen.
We asked John what it was like to work with Selena as an actress and he replied with, “the d**n greatest.”
“There’s no one more of a pro.”
John said that Selena is the first one set every day and that she has a great work ethic.
“I don’t know how she does it all,” he said.
The creator went on say that this is Selena’s best work on the show and that her, Steve Martin, who also co-created the Hulu series, and Martin Short are all moving in sync and they don’t even know it.
CAN’T GET ENOUGH
The U.S. Sun then asked John if Benny, 36, will appear in Season 4 of OMITB, and he also opened up about their relationship.
“Oh. That’s a good question. I like that one,” the creator said.
“I can’t confirm that as of now, but I love the idea.”
John mentioned earlier that they are currently halfway through filming the season, so now that the idea is in his head, Benny may show up.
He said that the singer and Selena are cute together and that Benny is “really great.”
“He’s been around here and there around the set and around various events and things like that,” John shared.
“I like the relationship between them so much. It’s a great spirit that goes on between them.”
He said that her co-stars, Steve, 78, and Martin, 74, love Benny.
When Selena and Benny’s relationship started is not clear, but she first hard launched him on Instagram in December when she shared a photo of them kissing.
Selena has called Benny her best friend in numerous posts.
‘MOMENT OF REFLECTION’
Although John couldn’t share if Benny will be on Season 4, he did tease what is to come.
“We have a situation at the end of season three with one of our characters that’s most beloved and most beloved by our trio,” he began.
The last scene of Season 3 ended with another murder and this time it was Sazz Pataki, who is Charles’ (Steve Martin) stunt double from his series, Brazzos.

Sazz (Jane Lynch) became a close friend to the trio.
They didn’t discover her body at the end, so they don’t know that she is dead, but it seems that her death will have a big impact on them this season.
“There’s a real emotional connection at the core of it and a real moment of reflection for our trio. And that reflection is made over and over and over again,” John went on.
“They find themselves mirrored and duplicated in ways that I think will provide great fodder for comedy and also great reflection for the deeper stuff too. So that’s the big one.”
